Sitka Gold Expands Gold Resources at Yukon Deposit

Sitka Gold Corp (TSXV: SIG) has reported a notable increase in their gold resources at the Blackjack deposit within the Yukon territory, significantly boosting the project's value. According to a recent article by Mining.com, the newly announced resources include 1.29 million ounces in the indicated category at a gold grade of 1.01 grams per tonne, drawn from nearly 40 million tonnes of ore.

Additionally, the deposit now boasts approximately 1.04 million ounces in the inferred category with a grading of 0.94 g/t gold, up from the previous estimate of 900,000 ounces at 0.83 g/t released in January 2023. This substantial increase results from comprehensive drilling conducted in 2023-2024, enhancing estimates beyond initial numbers derived from 7,074 meters (21 holes) of drilling.

As stated by Sitka Gold's CEO, Cor Coe, the updated figures showcase the discovery's quality, underscoring the presence of robust, non-refractory mineralization with higher grade cores of 1 g/t or more that commence at the surface, reaching depths up to 660 meters. The Blackjack deposit, part of the RC property, is strategically located 100 kilometers east of Dawson City, representing a significant consolidation within Yukon's Tombstone gold belt.

Sitka has pinpointed two surface-level deposits, Blackjack and Eiger, out of 11 gold-bearing intrusions found on the property. The latest resource estimates increase the collective gold count at the RC project to approximately 2.7 million ounces, with nearly half in the indicated resource category.

Looking ahead, Sitka intends to further augment the resources through an ambitious 30,000-meter drilling campaign planned for 2025. This effort will focus on expanding the Blackjack-Eiger area and pursue exploratory drilling in the Rhosgobel and Pukelman areas. In response to these promising developments, Sitka Gold's stock rose 16.7% to C$0.32, indicating a market capitalization of C$105.6 million by midday Tuesday.
