South Africa Handbag Import Price in February 2023
In February 2023, the handbag price amounted to $1.9 per unit (CIF, South Africa), increasing by 55% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a abrupt slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2022 when the average import price increased by 361% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $8,255 per thousand units. From October 2022 to February 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was India ($12.4 per unit), while the price for China totaled $1.3 per unit.
From February 2022 to February 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+2.2%).

From February 2022 to February 2023, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of the volume of import of handbags with outer surface of plastic sheeting or of textile materials stood at +29.5%.
