Spain's Television Receiver Price Increases to $113 per Unit

Spain Television Receiver Import Price in August 2022

In August 2022, the television receiver price amounted to $113 per unit (CIF, Spain), remaining constant against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2022 an increase of 4.7% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $131 per unit. From April 2022 to August 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2022, the country with the highest price was Hungary ($696 per unit), while the price for Indonesia ($79.9 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2022 to August 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hungary (+24.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Spain Television Receiver Imports

For the fourth consecutive month, Spain recorded decline in overseas purchases of television receivers, which decreased by -2% to 618K units in August 2022. Overall, imports saw a abrupt decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2022 when imports increased by 5.6% month-to-month. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at 1.2M units in January 2022; however, from February 2022 to August 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, television receiver imports reduced modestly to $70M (IndexBox estimates) in August 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate a abrupt descent. As a result, imports reached the peak of $143M. From February 2022 to August 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Spain Television Receiver Imports by Country

In August 2022, Poland (274K units) constituted the largest television receiver supplier to Spain, accounting for a 44% share of total imports. Moreover, television receiver imports from Poland exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Turkey (62K units), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was held by China (61K units), with a 9.8% share.

From January 2022 to August 2022, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of volume from Poland totaled -4.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average monthly rates of imports growth: Turkey (-0.6% per month) and China (-1.9% per month).

In value terms, Poland ($29M) constituted the largest supplier of television receiver to Spain, comprising 41% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by China ($8.5M), with a 12% share of total imports. It was followed by Turkey, with an 8.1% share.

From January 2022 to August 2022, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of value from Poland totaled -3.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average monthly rates of imports growth: China (+2.7% per month) and Turkey (-3.1% per month).
