Despite a turbulent period characterized by low oil prices and reduced fuel demand, the company's higher electricity sales and robust liquefied natural gas (LNG) trading offered some relief.

For the last quarter of 2024, TotalEnergies reported an adjusted net income of $4.4 billion, down from $5.2 billion in the previous year but slightly above the $4.1 billion recorded in the third quarter. These figures surpassed market expectations, which had forecasted a $4.2 billion profit according to a consensus from analysts at Visible Alpha.
