Turkey Machinery For Packing Import Price in July 2023
In July 2023, the machinery for packing price amounted to $844 per unit (CIF, Turkey), dropping by -31.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, import price indicated a temperate increase from July 2022 to July 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.8% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on July 2023 figures, machinery for packing import price increased by +27.5% against May 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2023 when the average import price increased by 86% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $1.2M per thousand units, and then fell dramatically in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Spain ($1,449 per unit), while the price for China ($291 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+5.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Turkey Machinery For Packing Imports
After two months of growth, overseas purchases of machinery for packing or wrapping decreased by -18% to 19K units in July 2023. Overall, total imports indicated a mild increase from July 2022 to July 2023: its volume increased at an average monthly rate of +1.9% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on July 2023 figures, imports increased by +44.2% against April 2023 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in December 2022 with an increase of 91% against the previous month. As a result, imports reached the peak of 25K units. From January 2023 to July 2023, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, machinery for packing imports dropped remarkably to $16M (IndexBox estimates) in July 2023. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate resilient growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in June 2023 when imports increased by 198% against the previous month. As a result, imports reached the peak of $28M, and then reduced notably in the following month.
Turkey Machinery For Packing Imports by Country
Italy (7.3K units), Germany (4.5K units) and China (3.4K units) were the main suppliers of machinery for packing imports to Turkey, with a combined 82% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Switzerland, Spain, France and Taiwan (Chinese), which together accounted for a further 13%.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Switzerland (with a CAGR of +28.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Italy ($6.2M), Germany ($3.6M) and Switzerland ($2.3M) constituted the largest machinery for packing suppliers to Turkey, together comprising 77% of total imports.
Switzerland, with a CAGR of +28.7%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
