Turkey Register Book Exports
In July 2023, after five months of growth, there was significant decline in overseas shipments of registers, account books, order books and receipt books, when their volume decreased by -10.7% to 981 tons. Over the period under review, exports recorded a perceptible curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in May 2023 when exports increased by 72% month-to-month.
In value terms, register book exports contracted dramatically to $3.4M (IndexBox estimates) in July 2023. Overall, exports showed a pronounced decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 with an increase of 78% m-o-m.

Exports by Country
Syrian Arab Republic (124 tons), Italy (70 tons) and the UK (40 tons) were the main destinations of register book exports from Turkey, with a combined 24% share of total exports.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by the UK (with a CAGR of +8.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Italy ($485K) remains the key foreign market for register book exports from Turkey, comprising 14% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the UK ($186K), with a 5.4% share of total exports. It was followed by the United States, with a 5.3% share.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of value to Italy amounted to +5.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average monthly rates of exports growth: the UK (+6.4% per month) and the United States (-7.1% per month).
Export Prices by Country
In July 2023, the register book price amounted to $3,515 per ton (FOB, Turkey), declining by -6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, export price indicated a slight increase from July 2022 to July 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.0% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on July 2023 figures, register book export price decreased by -39.0% against February 2023 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in November 2022 when the average export price increased by 26% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $5,764 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to July 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Italy ($6,953 per ton), while the average price for exports to Syrian Arab Republic ($1,465 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Romania (+6.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
