Turkey Unvulcanised Rubber Import Price in December 2022
In December 2022, the unvulcanised rubber price stood at $2,275 per ton (CIF, Turkey), waning by -10% against the previous month. Overall, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 11% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $2,543 per ton in January 2022; however, from February 2022 to December 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Italy ($3,926 per ton), while the price for Serbia ($791 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2021 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+3.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Turkey Unvulcanised Rubber Imports
In December 2022, purchases abroad of unvulcanised rubber was finally on the rise to reach 2.6K tons for the first time since September 2022, thus ending a two-month declining trend. In general, imports, however, saw a mild descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in February 2022 when imports increased by 43% m-o-m. As a result, imports attained the peak of 3.8K tons. From March 2022 to December 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, unvulcanised rubber imports expanded rapidly to $5.9M (IndexBox estimates) in December 2022. Overall, imports, however, saw a slight shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in September 2022 with an increase of 33% against the previous month.
Turkey Unvulcanised Rubber Imports by Country
Italy (628 tons), the United States (445 tons) and Spain (329 tons) were the main suppliers of unvulcanised rubber imports to Turkey, with a combined 54% share of total imports. Belgium, Germany, Romania, France, the UK and Serbia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 40%.
From December 2021 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Belgium (with a CAGR of +19.2%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Italy ($2.5M) constituted the largest supplier of unvulcanised rubber to Turkey, comprising 42% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Germany ($943K), with a 16% share of total imports. It was followed by Romania, with a 10% share.
From December 2021 to December 2022, the average monthly growth rate of value from Italy amounted to +5.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average monthly rates of imports growth: Germany (+3.0% per month) and Romania (+0.6% per month).
