United Kingdom Frozen Fruit Import Price in June 2023
In June 2023, the frozen fruit price amounted to $2,981 per ton (CIF, United Kingdom), growing by 4.3% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.0%. The growth pace was the most rapid in December 2022 an increase of 16% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $3,235 per ton. From January 2023 to June 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Serbia ($3,834 per ton), while the price for Egypt ($1,489 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+2.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

United Kingdom Frozen Fruit Import Prices by Type
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplied products. In June 2023, the product with the highest price was frozen raspberries, blackberries, mulberries, loganberries, black-, white- or red currants and gooseberries ($4,663 per ton), while the price for frozen strawberries ($1,982 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by frozen strawberries (+1.7%), while the prices for the other products experienced more modest paces of growth.
United Kingdom Frozen Fruit Imports
In June 2023, approximately 6.1K tons of frozen fruits were imported into the UK; reducing by -11.1% on May 2023. In general, imports showed a mild decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 when imports increased by 21% month-to-month.
In value terms, frozen fruit imports fell to $18M (IndexBox estimates) in June 2023. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in March 2023 with an increase of 26% m-o-m.
United Kingdom Frozen Fruit Imports by Type
In June 2023, frozen fruits and nuts (excluding strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, mulberries, loganberries, black, white or red currants, and gooseberries) (3.9K tons) constituted the largest type of frozen fruit supplied to the UK, with a 64% share of total imports. Moreover, frozen fruits and nuts (excluding strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, mulberries, loganberries, black, white or red currants, and gooseberries) exceeded the figures recorded for the second-largest type, frozen strawberries (1.1K tons), fourfold.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the average monthly growth rate of the volume of import of frozen fruits and nuts (excluding strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, mulberries, loganberries, black, white or red currants, and gooseberries) was relatively modest. With regard to the other supplied products, the following average monthly rates of growth were recorded: frozen strawberries (-5.2% per month) and frozen raspberries, blackberries, mulberries, loganberries, black-, white- or red currants and gooseberries (+1.3% per month).
In value terms, frozen fruits and nuts (excluding strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, mulberries, loganberries, black, white or red currants, and gooseberries) ($11M) constituted the largest type of frozen fruit supplied to the UK, comprising 61% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by frozen raspberries, blackberries, mulberries, loganberries, black-, white- or red currants and gooseberries ($4.9M), with a 27% share of total imports.
United Kingdom Frozen Fruit Imports by Country
Poland (1.3K tons), Serbia (857 tons) and Peru (654 tons) were the main suppliers of frozen fruit imports to the UK, together comprising 45% of total imports. These countries were followed by Egypt, Chile, Belgium, Germany, Spain, Vietnam, Costa Rica, the United States, China and Canada, which together accounted for a further 42%.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by the United States (with a CAGR of +9.1%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Poland ($4.2M), Serbia ($3.3M) and Peru ($1.6M) constituted the largest frozen fruit suppliers to the UK, together comprising 50% of total imports. Germany, Belgium, Chile, Egypt, the United States, Spain, Vietnam, Canada, Costa Rica and China lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 36%.
In terms of the main suppliers, the United States, with a CAGR of +11.3%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
