In 2023, approx. 4.3K tons of hops were imported into the UK; waning by -19.5% compared with the year before. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a pronounced increase from 2013 to 2023: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.3% over the last decade. Imports by Country
In 2023, the United States (2.5K tons) constituted the largest supplier of hop to the UK, accounting for a 58% share of total imports. Moreover, hop imports from the United States exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (920 tons), threefold. Canada (226 tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 5.2% share.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 21% against the previous year. The import price peaked in 2023 and is likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2023, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Australia ($29,333 per ton), while the price for Poland ($6,014 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2013 to 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+10.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
