UPS Predicts 2025 Revenue Below Wall Street Estimates

United Parcel Service (UPS) recently announced its revenue expectation for 2025, which falls below Wall Street's estimates, as detailed in a report by Reuters. The shift in customer preference towards cheaper, slower ground-based deliveries is diminishing gains from the company's cost-cutting measures, traditionally secured through more profitable air-based services.

As a result, UPS shares took a hit, dropping over 5% early in the trading session. The company forecasted its full-year revenue to reach $89 billion, significantly lower than the average analyst estimation of $94.88 billion, based on LSEG data. This projection highlights ongoing challenges faced by UPS and its competitor FedEx in capitalizing on post-pandemic shipping trends, which have seen a marked preference for economical delivery options.

UPS, headquartered in Atlanta, has also set its full-year forecast for consolidated operating margin at 10.8%.
