U.S. Aircraft Propeller Imports
Aircraft propeller imports into the United States amounted to 677 tons in 2023, surging by 2% compared with the previous year. In general, total imports indicated a temperate expansion from 2013 to 2023: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2023 figures, imports increased by +6.4% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 27%. Imports peaked at 701 tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2023, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, aircraft propeller imports rose modestly to $323M (IndexBox estimates) in 2023. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a moderate expansion from 2013 to 2023: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2023 figures, imports decreased by -2.0% against 2021 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 21%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $330M in 2021; however, from 2022 to 2023, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country
France (184 tons), Canada (117 tons) and the UK (88 tons) were the main suppliers of aircraft propeller imports to the United States, with a combined 57% share of total imports. Germany, Turkey, Italy, Austria and Poland lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 30%.
From 2013 to 2023, the biggest increases were recorded for Turkey (with a CAGR of +20.7%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, France ($101M), Germany ($53M) and the UK ($45M) were the largest aircraft propeller suppliers to the United States, together accounting for 62% of total imports. Canada, Italy, Turkey, Poland and Austria lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 33%.
Poland, with a CAGR of +48.7%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2023, the aircraft propeller price stood at $477,201 per ton, therefore (CIF, US), remained relatively stable against the previous year. Over the period from 2013 to 2023, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.2%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average import price increased by 26%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $535,454 per ton. From 2015 to 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2023, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($865,562 per ton), while the price for South Africa ($48,909 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2013 to 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+7.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
