Rising Prices of Canned Food Attributed to Volatile Raw Material Costs
Firstly, the cost of raw materials such as fruits, vegetables, and meat that go into making canned food can be volatile due to weather patterns and availability. This impacts the overall production cost of canned food, which then affects the final price.
Secondly, the supply chain and distribution of canned goods involves multiple intermediaries such as wholesalers and retailers before it reaches the end consumer. Each intermediary adds their own profit margin, which leads to an overall increase in price.
Lastly, the demand for canned food has been steadily increasing over the years due to its convenience and long shelf-life. As demand rises, so does the price.
