US Stock Futures Dip Ahead of Fed Decision and Retail Sales Data

Attention is focused on the trajectory of interest rates in 2024, especially the forthcoming January meeting.

The 10-year Treasury yield climbed past 4.42% to its peak in over three weeks, driven by speculations of a cautious Federal Reserve stance in the coming months. Meanwhile, the release of the November retail sales report later today is expected to offer insights into consumer spending trends, with economists predicting a 0.5% month-on-month increase due to robust holiday shopping activities.

Nvidia's shares remain under scrutiny after the tech giant's stock entered correction territory on Monday, having decreased over 10% from its November record close. Nvidia's pre-market performance showed a 1.4% dip, even as advances in Broadcom and other industry players helped to moderate the Nasdaq's overall decline.
