Venture Global Eyes $110 Billion Valuation in Blockbuster U.S. IPO

Venture Global LNG, a prominent liquefied natural gas exporter, is targeting a valuation of up to $110.38 billion in its forthcoming initial public offering, making it the first major stock market flotation of 2025. Reuters reports that the Arlington, Virginia-based company aims to raise as much as $2.30 billion by offering 50 million shares at an estimated price range of $40 to $46 each.

The IPO enters the market amidst increasing global demand for LNG, as countries look for cleaner energy alternatives. The United States, with its abundant natural gas reserves, has become the world's largest LNG exporter, supported by a robust network of terminals along the Gulf Coast. According to IndexBox data, the U.S. exported liquefied natural gas valued at $33.4 billion in 2023, with major exports going to the Netherlands ($4.4 billion), France ($3.8 billion), and the United Kingdom ($3.5 billion).

Venture Global has been a major player in this sector, having raised approximately $54 billion in capital. The company's existing LNG facilities include the Calcasieu Pass and the newly operational Plaquemines plant, now one of the largest worldwide. Venture Global continues to harness financial momentum, generating $19.6 billion in gross proceeds from LNG sales as of late September.

The offering could potentially mark one of New York's largest energy IPOs ever, rivaling historical listings like Conoco's $4.4 billion float in 1998. Under the guidance of lead underwriters Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan, and BofA Securities, Venture Global is poised for a significant market debut under the symbol "VG" on the New York Stock Exchange.
