China (97M units) remains the largest water filter producing country worldwide, comprising approx. 36% of total volume. Moreover, water filter production in China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest producer, South Korea (18M units), sixfold. Taiwan (Chinese) (15M units) ranked third in terms of total production with a 5.7% share.

South Africa (11M units), Malaysia (10M units), Japan (9.2M units), Brazil (7.9M units), France (6.5M units) and Colombia (6.2M units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Imports into the United States increased at an average annual rate of +3.1% from 2013 to 2024. At the same time, India (+26.9%), Colombia (+20.1%), Canada (+18.3%), Brazil (+14.9%), South Africa (+14.0%), Mexico (+10.2%), Malaysia (+10.2%) and Japan (+3.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, India emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the world, with a CAGR of +26.9% from 2013-2024. By contrast, France (-7.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Canada (+11 p.p.), India (+5.9 p.p.) and France (+1.7 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global imports, while the United States saw its share reduced by -25.5% from 2013 to 2024, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the United States ($2.1B) constitutes the largest market for imported machinery for filtering or purifying water worldwide, comprising 19% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Canada ($374M), with a 3.4% share of global imports. It was followed by France, with a 3.1% share.
