Leather Apparel Imports By Country

China (X tons) represented the main importing country with an import of around X tons, which resulted at X% of total imports. It was distantly followed by India (X tons), comprising X% share of total leather apparel imports. Germany (X tons), China, Hong Kong SAR (X tons), the UK (X tons), Japan (X tons), France (X tons), Italy (X tons), Spain (X tons), Pakistan (X tons), and the Philippines (X tons) took the mild share of total imports.

China experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. At the same time, the Philippines (+X%), India (+X%), and Pakistan (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the Philippines emerged as the fastest growing importer/exporter in the world, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2016. By contrast, Spain (-X%), the UK (-X%), Italy (-X%), Japan (-X%), Germany (-X%), France (-X%), and China, Hong Kong SAR (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of China, Hong Kong SAR (X%), and Germany (X%) increased significantly, the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Germany ($X), France ($X) and China, Hong Kong SAR ($X) appeared as the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2016, together comprising X% of global imports. These countries were followed by Japan, Italy, the UK, Spain, China, India, the Philippines and Pakistan, which together accounted for a further X%.

India (+X% per year) recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the leather apparel imports, in terms of the main importing countries, over the last X years, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Leather Apparel Import Prices By Country

In 2016, the average import price for leather apparel amounted to $X per kg, reducing by -X% against the previous year. Overall, leather apparel import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2011, when import increased by X% year-to-year. Global leather apparel import peaked of $X per kg in 2014- however, from 2015 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

Import prices varied noticeably by country of destination. the country with the highest import prices was France ($X per kg), while India ($X per ton) was among the lowest.
