Which Country Exports the Most Stationery in the World?

Global stationery imports amounted to X tons in 2016, approximately reflecting the previous year level. In general, stationery imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013, when import increased by X% year-to-year. In that year, global stationery imports attained its maximum volume of X tons. From 2014 to 2016, growth of global stationery imports stood at a somewhat lower level.

In value terms, stationery imports totaled $X in 2016. Overall, stationery imports continue to indicate a slight expansion. Global stationery import peaked in 2016, and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

Stationery Imports By Country

China (X tons) represented the largest importer of stationery in the world, accounting for X tons, which was approx. X% of total imports in 2016. The U.S. (X tons) occupied a X% share (based on tons) of global stationery imports, which put it in second place, following Japan (X%). India (X tons), the UK (X tons), France (X tons), Germany (X tons), Spain (X tons), Mexico (X tons), Iran (X tons), and Indonesia (X tons) followed a long way behind this figure.

China experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. At the same time, Iran (+X%), Indonesia (+X%), Spain (+X%), Mexico (+X%), and India (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Iran emerged as the fastest growing importer/exporter in the world, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2016. Japan, the U.S., and Germany experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, France (-X%), and the UK (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of China (-X%) decreased significantly, the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the U.S. ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported stationery worldwide, making up X% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by France ($X), with the share of X% of global imports. It was followed by Germany, with the share of X%.

From 2007 to 2016, the average annual growth rate of value of stationery imports in the U.S. expanded at +X%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates: France (+X% per year) and Germany (+X% per year).

Stationery Import Prices By Country

The average stationery import price stood at $X per ton in 2016, surging by X% against the previous year. In general, stationery import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014, when import increased by X% from the previous year level. Global stationery import peaked in 2016, and is likely to continue its growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average import prices amongst major importing countries. In 2016, the country with the highest import prices was Mexico ($X per kg), while China ($X per ton) was among the lowest.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of stationery import prices was attained by China (+X% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
