In value terms, the largest wood barrel supplying countries worldwide were the United States ($451M), France ($447M) and Spain ($154M), together accounting for 87% of global exports. Chile, the UK, Australia, Vietnam, Mexico, Saudi Arabia and Swaziland lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 2.6%.

Saudi Arabia, with a CAGR of +55.2%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
