Imports in the EU
In 2018, the wood kitchenware and tableware imports in the European Union amounted to X tons, surging by X% against the previous year. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% from 2007 to 2018; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded over the period under review. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, wood kitchenware and tableware imports attained their peak figure in 2018 and are expected to retain its growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, wood kitchenware and tableware imports totaled $X (IndexBox estimates) in 2018. The total imports indicated a resilient expansion from 2007 to 2018: its value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last eleven years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2018 figures, wood kitchenware and tableware imports increased by +X% against 2014 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. The level of imports peaked in 2018 and are likely to continue its growth in the near future.

In 2018, Germany (X tons), distantly followed by the UK (X tons), France (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons), Italy (X tons) and Belgium (X tons) were the major importers of tableware and kitchenware of wood, together making up X% of total imports. The following importers - Poland (X tons), Sweden (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons), Denmark (X tons), Spain (X tons) and Portugal (X tons) - together made up X% of total imports.
