YouTube Tests New Voice Note Feature for Enhanced Creator Interaction

In a bid to enhance creator-fan interaction, YouTube is testing a new feature that lets creators post voice notes and respond to comments on their videos. This development comes amid YouTube's continuous efforts to foster community engagement, as reported by Yahoo Finance.

According to YouTube, the ability to post voice notes is currently available to select creators in the United States, who can use the iOS YouTube app for this purpose. To use the feature, eligible creators can tap on a soundwave icon when replying to a comment, allowing them to record and post a voice comment directly on their channel. All users, however, can listen to these voice comments and also view a transcript if they prefer reading over listening.

YouTube's experiment is another thread in its tapestry of new features introduced this year aimed at strengthening the creator-subscriber bond. Earlier in the year, YouTube enabled the posting of exclusive Shorts for subscribers and later incorporated a Discord-like space within creator channels to facilitate fan discussions.

This strategy seems to align with broader market trends.
