China Acetals And Hemiacetals And Their Halogenated; Sulphonated; Nitrated Or Nitrosated Derivatives Export Price in September 2022
In September 2022, the acetals and hemiacetals and their halogenated; sulphonated; nitrated or nitrosated derivatives price amounted to $15.4 per kg (FOB, China), picking up by 18% against the previous month. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a resilient increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2022 an increase of 175% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $20.5 per kg in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to September 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was Italy ($53.5 per kg), while the average price for exports to Thailand ($1,421 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Indonesia (+32.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Exports of acetals and hemiacetals and their halogenated; sulphonated; nitrated or nitrosated derivatives from China contracted sharply to 80 tons in September 2022, dropping by -43.7% compared with August 2022 figures. Overall, exports saw a deep slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in March 2022 when exports increased by 173% month-to-month. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 200 tons. From April 2022 to September 2022, the growth of the exports of remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, exports of acetals and hemiacetals and their halogenated; sulphonated; nitrated or nitrosated derivatives reduced dramatically to $1.2M (IndexBox estimates) in September 2022. In general, exports, however, recorded prominent growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in May 2022 when exports increased by 127% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the exports of attained the peak figure at 1.9K tons in August 2022, and then dropped dramatically in the following month.

India (17 tons), Thailand (14 tons) and Italy (10 tons) were the main destinations of exports of acetals and hemiacetals and their halogenated; sulphonated; nitrated or nitrosated derivatives from China, together comprising 51% of total exports. These countries were followed by the UK, Singapore, Argentina, Taiwan (Chinese), the United States, Japan, Vietnam, Switzerland, Spain and Indonesia, which together accounted for a further 47%.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Argentina (with a CAGR of +50.3%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Italy ($543K) emerged as the key foreign market for acetals and hemiacetals and their halogenated; sulphonated; nitrated or nitrosated derivatives exports from China, comprising 44% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the UK ($158K), with a 13% share of total exports. It was followed by India, with a 7.6% share.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of value to Italy stood at -1.0%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average monthly rates of exports growth: the UK (+19.1% per month) and India (+0.2% per month).
