In September 2022, the acrylic tow and staple, not carded, combed or otherwise processed for spinning price amounted to $3,913 per ton (CIF, China), with an increase of 6% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $3,971 per ton in January 2022; however, from February 2022 to September 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($8,603 per ton), while the price for Taiwan (Chinese) ($712 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
