In January 2023, the average aircraft tyre import price amounted to $1,363 per unit, rising by 37% against the previous month. Over the period from January 2022 to January 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.5%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in October 2022 an increase of 43% m-o-m. The import price peaked in January 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In January 2023, the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($2,901 per unit), while the price for the Czech Republic ($68.0 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to January 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+9.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average aircraft tyre export price stood at $1,967 per unit in January 2023, leveling off at the previous month. Overall, the export price showed a deep setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in October 2022 an increase of 588% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $10,000 per unit in January 2022; afterwards, it flattened through to January 2023.

From January 2022 to January 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kyrgyzstan (0.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Aircraft Tyre Imports in Turkey
In 2022, approx. 11K units of tyres for aircraft were imported into Turkey; rising by 23% against 2021. In general, imports, however, saw a abrupt shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 53%. Imports peaked at 14K units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, aircraft tyre imports skyrocketed to $12M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a pronounced increase. In 2022, shipments abroad of tyres for aircraft decreased by -75.8% to 15 units, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. In general, exports faced a sharp downturn.
