China Alcohol, Ether And Ketone Peroxides And Their Halogenated, Sulphonated, Nitrated Or Nitrosated Derivatives Export Price in September 2022
In September 2022, the alcohol, ether and ketone peroxides and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives price stood at $5,604 per ton (FOB, China), with an increase of 4.4% against the previous month. Over the last eight-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.9%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in July 2022 when the average export price increased by 16% against the previous month. The export price peaked in September 2022.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Belgium ($12.9 per kg), while the average price for exports to India ($2,733 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Russia (+11.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In September 2022, shipments abroad of alcohol, ether and ketone peroxides and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives decreased by -16% to 2.2K tons, falling for the third month in a row after two months of growth. Over the period under review, exports saw a drastic downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2022 when exports increased by 54% against the previous month. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 5.7K tons. From April 2022 to September 2022, the growth of the exports of failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, exports of alcohol, ether and ketone peroxides and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives shrank to $13M (IndexBox estimates) in September 2022. Overall, exports continue to indicate a deep slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2022 when exports increased by 53% month-to-month. The exports peaked at 24K tons in January 2022; however, from February 2022 to September 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

South Korea (337 tons), India (216 tons) and Taiwan (Chinese) (159 tons) were the main destinations of exports of alcohol, ether and ketone peroxides and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives from China, together comprising 32% of total exports. The United States, Turkey, the Netherlands, Egypt, Vietnam, Japan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Belgium and Malaysia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 47%.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the biggest increases were in Egypt (with a CAGR of +20.0%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, South Korea ($1.7M), the Netherlands ($1.3M) and the United States ($1M) constituted the largest markets for alcohol, ether and ketone peroxides and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives exported from China worldwide, together comprising 33% of total exports. These countries were followed by Vietnam, Belgium, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan (Chinese), Russia, India, Turkey, Japan, Egypt and Malaysia, which together accounted for a further 52%.
In terms of the main countries of destination, Egypt, with a CAGR of +20.9%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
