China Amine-Function Compounds Export Price in September 2022
In September 2022, the amine-function compounds price stood at $3,539 per ton (FOB, China), which is down by -4.2% against the previous month. In general, the export price showed a pronounced setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2022 an increase of 22% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $4,174 per ton in January 2022; however, from February 2022 to September 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Germany ($6,791 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($1,613 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Indonesia (+3.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
China Amine-Function Compounds Export Prices by Type
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major types of exported product. In September 2022, the product with the highest price was cyclanic, cyclenic or cycloterpenic mono- or polyamines, and their derivatives and salts thereof ($6,882 per ton), while the average price for exports of aniline and its salts (excluding derivatives) ($1,446 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for the following types: acylic monoamines,their derivatives and salts thereof (+0.7%), while the prices for the other products experienced more modest paces of growth.
China Amine-Function Compounds Exports
In September 2022, the amount of amine-function compounds exported from China shrank to 79K tons, approximately equating August 2022 figures. The total export volume increased at an average monthly rate of +1.4% from January 2022 to September 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain months. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2022 with an increase of 69% m-o-m. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 102K tons. From June 2022 to September 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, amine-function compounds exports shrank to $279M (IndexBox estimates) in September 2022. Overall, exports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2022 with an increase of 39% m-o-m. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $345M. From June 2022 to September 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
China Amine-Function Compounds Exports by Type
Aniline and its salts (excluding derivatives) (25K tons) was the largest type of amine-function compounds exported from China, with a 35% share of total exports. Moreover, aniline and its salts (excluding derivatives) exceeded the volume of the second product type, acylic monoamines,their derivatives and salts thereof (excl. methylamine; di- or trimethylamine) (12K tons), twofold. Amine-function compounds; aromatic amines and their derivatives; o-, m-, p-phenylenediamine, diaminotoluenes and their derivatives; salts thereof (12K tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 17% share.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of the volume of export of aniline and its salts (excluding derivatives) stood at +6.2%. With regard to the other exported products, the following average monthly rates of growth were recorded: acylic monoamines,their derivatives and salts thereof (excl. methylamine; di- or trimethylamine) (-2.1% per month) and amine-function compounds; aromatic amines and their derivatives; o-, m-, p-phenylenediamine, diaminotoluenes and their derivatives; salts thereof (-2.8% per month).
In value terms, the most traded types of amine-function compounds in China were amine-function compounds; aromatic amines and their derivatives; o-, m-, p-phenylenediamine, diaminotoluenes and their derivatives; salts thereof ($61M), acylic monoamines,their derivatives and salts thereof (excl. methylamine; di- or trimethylamine) ($41M) and aniline and its salts (excluding derivatives) ($36M), together comprising 63% of total exports. These products were followed by aniline derivatives and their salts, cyclanic, cyclenic or cycloterpenic mono- or polyamines, and their derivatives and salts thereof, amine-function compounds; aromatic monoamines and their derivatives, diphenylamine and its derivatives; salts thereof, amine-function compounds; aromatic monoamines and their derivatives, toluidines and their derivatives; salts thereof, amine-function compounds; aromatic monoamines and their derivatives; 1-naphthylamine (alpha-naphthylamine), 2-naphthylamine (beta-naphthaylamine) and their derivatives; salts thereof and methylamine, di- or trimethylamine and their salts, which together accounted for a further 37%.
Aniline, with a CAGR of +4.7%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main product categories over the period under review, while shipments for the other products experienced more modest paces of growth.
China Amine-Function Compounds Exports by Country
India (23K tons) was the main destination for amine-function compounds exports from China, accounting for a 30% share of total exports. Moreover, amine-function compounds exports to India exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Russia (5.9K tons), fourfold. The United Arab Emirates (5K tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 6.3% share.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the average monthly growth rate of volume to India stood at +7.9%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average monthly rates of exports growth: Russia (+18.7% per month) and the United Arab Emirates (+36.3% per month).
In value terms, India ($54M) remains the key foreign market for amine-function compounds exports from China, comprising 19% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Germany ($26M), with a 9.2% share of total exports. It was followed by the United States, with an 8.8% share.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the average monthly growth rate of value to India stood at +4.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average monthly rates of exports growth: Germany (+0.2% per month) and the United States (+1.0% per month).
