U.S. Antimony Oxides Import Price per Ton in August 2022
In August 2022, the antimony oxides price per ton stood at $10.3K (CIF, US), dropping by -12.6% against the previous month. Over the last seven months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.0%. The growth pace was the most rapid in July 2022 an increase of 31% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $11.8K per ton, and then contracted in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Belgium ($13.0K per ton), while the price for Japan ($4.3K per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to August 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Japan (+11.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
U.S. Antimony Oxides Imports
In August 2022, the amount of antimony oxides imported into the United States rose slightly to 1.8K tons, picking up by 3.2% against the month before. In general, imports, however, recorded a pronounced setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2022 with an increase of 45% m-o-m.
In value terms, antimony oxides imports dropped to $19M (IndexBox estimates) in August 2022. Overall, imports, however, recorded a noticeable descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2022 with an increase of 35% month-to-month.
U.S. Antimony Oxides Imports by Country
In August 2022, China (1.5K tons) constituted the largest supplier of antimony oxides to the United States, with a 82% share of total imports. Moreover, antimony oxides imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Belgium (214 tons), sevenfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Japan (42 tons), with a 2.3% share.
From January 2022 to August 2022, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of volume from China stood at -4.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average monthly rates of imports growth: Belgium (-1.9% per month) and Japan (+52.6% per month).
In value terms, China ($15M) constituted the largest supplier of antimony oxides to the United States, comprising 80% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Belgium ($2.8M), with a 15% share of total imports. It was followed by France, with a 2.5% share.
From January 2022 to August 2022, the average monthly growth rate of value from China amounted to -3.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average monthly rates of imports growth: Belgium (+0.1% per month) and France (-11.9% per month).
