Antisera Prices in China

China Antisera Import Price in September 2022

In September 2022, the antisera price amounted to $1.8K per kg (CIF, China), picking up by 11% against the previous month. Overall, the import price posted buoyant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in May 2022 an increase of 222% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $2,374 per kg; afterwards, it flattened through to September 2022.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was Germany ($3.3K per kg), while the price for New Zealand ($43.3 per kg) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+8.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

China Antisera Imports

In September 2022, purchases abroad of antisera and other blood fractions decreased by -13.9% to 602 tons, falling for the second consecutive month after three months of growth. In general, imports showed a slight curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in June 2022 with an increase of 39% against the previous month. Imports peaked at 903 tons in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to September 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, antisera imports declined to $1.1B (IndexBox estimates) in September 2022. Overall, imports, however, posted strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2022 when imports increased by 252% m-o-m. As a result, imports attained the peak of $1.4B. From June 2022 to September 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

China Antisera Imports by Country

the United States (159 tons), Switzerland (115 tons) and Italy (62 tons) were the main suppliers of antisera imports to China, with a combined 56% share of total imports.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Italy (with a CAGR of +18.8%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Germany ($204M), the United States ($195M) and Switzerland ($124M) constituted the largest antisera suppliers to China, with a combined 49% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Italy, Spain, Austria, Sweden and New Zealand, which together accounted for a further 6.4%.

In terms of the main suppliers, Italy, with a CAGR of +25.9%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
