U.S. Antisera Import Price per Ton in June 2022
In June 2022, the antisera price per ton stood at $3.0M (CIF, US), rising by 79% against the previous month. Overall, the import price showed a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2022 when the average import price increased by 94% month-to-month. The import price peaked in June 2022.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Ireland ($35.0M per ton), while the price for Poland ($11.6K per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to June 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Finland (+136.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
U.S. Antisera Imports
In August 2022, after two months of decline, there was significant growth in overseas purchases of antisera and other blood fractions, when their volume increased by 23% to 1.8K tons. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt slump.
In value terms, antisera imports surged to $4.2B (IndexBox estimates) in August 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2022 with an increase of 21% m-o-m.
U.S. Antisera Imports by Country
In June 2022, Canada (609 tons) constituted the largest antisera supplier to the United States, accounting for a 40% share of total imports. Moreover, antisera imports from Canada exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (178 tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Poland (90 tons), with a 5.9% share.
From January 2022 to June 2022, the average monthly growth rate of volume from Canada totaled +1.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average monthly rates of imports growth: Germany (+4.5% per month) and Poland (+259.4% per month).
In value terms, Ireland ($1.7B) constituted the largest supplier of antisera to the United States, comprising 37% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Germany ($439M), with a 9.8% share of total imports. It was followed by Switzerland, with an 8.7% share.
From January 2022 to June 2022, the average monthly growth rate of value from Ireland stood at +5.8%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average monthly rates of imports growth: Germany (-6.0% per month) and Switzerland (-1.7% per month).
