China Aromatic Ethers And Their Halogenated, Sulphonated, Nitrated Or Nitrosated Derivatives Export Price in September 2022

In September 2022, the aromatic ethers and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives price stood at $12.8 per kg (FOB, China), shrinking by -4.8% against the previous month. Overall, the export price saw a noticeable contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in June 2022 when the average export price increased by 26% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $18.8 per kg in January 2022; however, from February 2022 to September 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was Germany ($29.4 per kg), while the average price for exports to Indonesia ($6,189 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Singapore (+2.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In September 2022, the amount of aromatic ethers and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives exported from China dropped significantly to 2.1K tons, reducing by -21.8% against August 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded a abrupt decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2022 with an increase of 57% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the exports of attained the peak figure at 3.1K tons in January 2022; however, from February 2022 to September 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, exports of aromatic ethers and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives fell dramatically to $27M (IndexBox estimates) in September 2022. Overall, exports recorded a abrupt shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in May 2022 when exports increased by 29% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the exports of hit record highs at 59K tons in January 2022; however, from February 2022 to September 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

China Aromatic Ethers And Their Halogenated, Sulphonated, Nitrated Or Nitrosated Derivatives Exports by Country

The United States (424 tons) was the main destination for exports of aromatic ethers and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives from China, with a 20% share of total exports. Moreover, exports of aromatic ethers and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Japan (212 tons), twofold. India (187 tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with an 8.9% share.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of volume to the United States totaled +6.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average monthly rates of exports growth: Japan (-7.7% per month) and India (+10.7% per month).

In value terms, the United States ($4.7M), India ($3.5M) and Japan ($2.4M) were the largest markets for aromatic ethers and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives exported from China worldwide, with a combined 40% share of total exports.

In terms of the main countries of destination, India, with a CAGR of +13.4%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
