U.S. Aromatic Polyamines Import Price per Ton in August 2022
In August 2022, the aromatic polyamines price per ton stood at $5.4K (CIF, US), surging by 5.3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2022 an increase of 11% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $6.0K per ton in June 2022; however, from July 2022 to August 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was India ($8.5K per ton), while the price for Belgium ($2.4K per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to August 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Switzerland (+8.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
U.S. Aromatic Polyamines Imports
In August 2022, supplies from abroad of aromatic polyamines and their derivatives, salts thereof increased by 9.8% to 5.6K tons, rising for the second consecutive month after two months of decline. The total import volume increased at an average monthly rate of +3.9% from January 2022 to August 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed in certain months. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2022 with an increase of 24% m-o-m. Imports peaked in August 2022.
In value terms, aromatic polyamines imports surged to $30M (IndexBox estimates) in August 2022. The total import value increased at an average monthly rate of +3.4% from January 2022 to August 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain months. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2022 with an increase of 38% month-to-month.

China (2.1K tons), Japan (1.2K tons) and Belgium (1.1K tons) were the main suppliers of aromatic polyamines imports to the United States, with a combined 78% share of total imports.
