China Battered Fish Fillet Export Price in September 2022
In September 2022, the battered fish fillet price stood at $3,566 per ton (FOB, China), increasing by 2.8% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a mild decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2022 when the average export price increased by 3.3% month-to-month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $4,266 per ton. From March 2022 to September 2022, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was South Korea ($4,651 per ton), while the average price for exports to Israel ($3,050 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Australia (+1.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
China Battered Fish Fillet Exports
In September 2022, after two months of decline, there was significant growth in shipments abroad of fish fillets in batter or breadcrumbs, when their volume increased by 13% to 42K tons. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a pronounced slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2022 with an increase of 132% month-to-month. The exports peaked at 52K tons in January 2022; however, from February 2022 to September 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, battered fish fillet exports surged to $149M (IndexBox estimates) in September 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed a pronounced slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2022 when exports increased by 129% against the previous month. The exports peaked at 214K tons in January 2022; however, from February 2022 to September 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

The United States (13K tons), Mexico (10K tons) and Japan (5.7K tons) were the main destinations of battered fish fillet exports from China, together accounting for 70% of total exports.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the biggest increases were in Mexico (with a CAGR of -0.7%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline.
In value terms, the largest markets for battered fish fillet exported from China were the United States ($45M), Mexico ($41M) and Japan ($21M), with a combined 72% share of total exports.
Among the main countries of destination, Mexico, with a CAGR of -1.5%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline.
