Price Forecast for Ball and Roller Bearings in Germany till 2025
Bearing Price in Germany (FOB) - 2023
The average bearing export price stood at $24.3 per kg in December 2022, with an increase of 1.7% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in November 2022 an increase of 5.9% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $25.7 per kg in January 2022; however, from February 2022 to December 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In December 2022, the country with the highest price was the United States ($33.5 per kg), while the average price for exports to the Czech Republic ($13.1 per kg) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Sweden (+0.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Bearing Price in Germany (CIF) - 2023
The average bearing import price stood at $14.7 per kg in December 2022, increasing by 3.9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2022 an increase of 18% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $15,654 per ton. From June 2022 to December 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2022, the country with the highest price was Austria ($21.9 per kg), while the price for Hungary ($8,846 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+2.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Bearing Exports in Germany
In 2022, overseas shipments of ball and roller bearings decreased by -10.7% to 179K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 11% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 201K tons, and then dropped in the following year.
In value terms, bearing exports fell to $4.6B in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 15% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $4.7B, and then shrank slightly in the following year.
