China Bleached Sulphite Pulp Import Price in September 2022
In September 2022, the bleached sulphite pulp price amounted to $966 per ton (CIF, China), dropping by -21.8% against the previous month. In general, the import price continues to indicate a pronounced setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2022 an increase of 32% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $1,794 per ton. From April 2022 to September 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was Germany ($1,884 per ton), while the price for Russia amounted to $653 per ton.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Japan (+30.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
China Bleached Sulphite Pulp Imports
Bleached sulphite pulp imports into China surged to 944 tons in September 2022, increasing by 61% on August 2022. Overall, imports showed a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2022 when imports increased by 352% m-o-m. As a result, imports reached the peak of 1.3K tons. From June 2022 to September 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, bleached sulphite pulp imports soared to $912K (IndexBox estimates) in September 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate moderate growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in May 2022 when imports increased by 429% m-o-m. As a result, imports attained the peak of $1.9M. From June 2022 to September 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
