U.S. Blood-Grouping Reagents Export Price in December 2021
In December 2021, the blood-grouping reagents price amounted to $77.0 per kg (FOB, US), waning by -10.5% against the previous month. In general, the export price continues to indicate a pronounced curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in August 2021 an increase of 43% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $141 per kg in March 2021; however, from April 2021 to December 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was France ($458 per kg), while the average price for exports to Brazil ($20.2 per kg) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+3.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
U.S. Blood-Grouping Reagents Exports
In December 2021, after two months of decline, there was significant growth in overseas shipments of blood-grouping reagents, when their volume increased by 24% to 87 tons. Over the period under review, exports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2021 with an increase of 68% against the previous month. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 110 tons; afterwards, it flattened through to December 2021.
In value terms, blood-grouping reagents exports expanded sharply to $6.7M (IndexBox estimates) in December 2021. In general, exports, however, recorded a noticeable decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2021 with an increase of 102% month-to-month. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $15M. From April 2021 to December 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
U.S. Blood-Grouping Reagents Exports by Country
Canada (48 tons) was the main destination for blood-grouping reagents exports from the United States, accounting for a 55% share of total exports. Moreover, blood-grouping reagents exports to Canada exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Brazil (7.3 tons), sevenfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Germany (7 tons), with an 8% share.
From January 2021 to December 2021, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of volume to Canada stood at +2.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average monthly rates of exports growth: Brazil (-0.1% per month) and Germany (-2.4% per month).
In value terms, Japan ($1.2M), Canada ($1,000K) and Germany ($929K) constituted the largest markets for blood-grouping reagents exported from the United States worldwide, together comprising 47% of total exports. These countries were followed by France, Australia, Brazil and Saint Kitts and Nevis, which together accounted for a further 17%.
Australia, with a CAGR of +2.8%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
