U.S. Boiler Parts Import Price per Ton in June 2022
In June 2022, the boiler parts price per ton stood at $11.8K (CIF, US), with a decrease of -18.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a noticeable shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in May 2022 an increase of 4.2% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $14.4K per ton, and then plummeted in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($44.5K per ton), while the price for China ($5.3K per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to June 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+12.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
U.S. Boiler Parts Imports
After five months of growth, purchases abroad of parts of boilers for central heating decreased by -13.2% to 847 tons in August 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a perceptible increase from January 2022 to August 2022: its volume increased at an average monthly rate of +4.1% over the last seven months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on August 2022 figures, imports decreased by -13.2% against July 2022 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in June 2022 when imports increased by 22% month-to-month.
In value terms, boiler parts imports reduced rapidly to $12M (IndexBox estimates) in August 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a tangible expansion from January 2022 to August 2022: its value increased at an average monthly rate of +4.8% over the last seven-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on August 2022 figures, imports increased by +53.1% against February 2022 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2022 when imports increased by 38% m-o-m. As a result, imports reached the peak of $15M, and then dropped significantly in the following month.
U.S. Boiler Parts Imports by Country
In June 2022, China (377 tons) constituted the largest supplier of boiler parts to the United States, with a 41% share of total imports. Moreover, boiler parts imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Canada (162 tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was taken by France (140 tons), with a 15% share.
From January 2022 to June 2022, the average monthly growth rate of volume from China amounted to +15.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average monthly rates of imports growth: Canada (+8.9% per month) and France (+18.9% per month).
In value terms, China ($2M), France ($1.9M) and South Korea ($1.5M) constituted the largest boiler parts suppliers to the United States, with a combined 50% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Canada, Germany, Poland, Italy and Austria, which together accounted for a further 29%.
In terms of the main suppliers, Austria, with a CAGR of +12.1%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
