China Calendars And Trade Advertising Material Export Price in September 2022

In September 2022, the calendars and trade advertising material price amounted to $6,717 per ton (FOB, China), picking up by 12% against the previous month. Over the period from January 2022 to September 2022, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.4%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2022 an increase of 23% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs in September 2022.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($22.7 per kg), while the average price for exports to the Philippines ($3,308 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Australia (+12.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

China Calendars And Trade Advertising Material Export Prices by Type

Prices varied noticeably by the product type; the product with the highest price was trade advertising materials and commercial catalogues ($10.1 per kg), while the average price for exports of calendars and calendar blocks ($4,818 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for the following types: trade advertising material and commercial catalogue (+5.6%), while the prices for the other products experienced more modest paces of growth.

China Calendars And Trade Advertising Material Exports

In September 2022, overseas shipments of calendars and trade advertising material decreased by -5.9% to 17K tons, falling for the third month in a row after four months of growth. Overall, exports saw a slight shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2022 with an increase of 19% m-o-m. The exports peaked at 23K tons in June 2022; however, from July 2022 to September 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, calendars and trade advertising material exports reached $116M (IndexBox estimates) in September 2022. In general, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2022 with an increase of 46% month-to-month. The exports peaked at 124K tons in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to September 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

China Calendars And Trade Advertising Material Exports by Type

Printed picture, design and photograph n.e.s. (4.8K tons), calendars and calendar blocks (4.7K tons) and trade advertising materials and commercial catalogues (4.6K tons) were the main products of calendars and trade advertising material exports from China, together accounting for 81% of total exports. Transfers (decalcomanias) lagged somewhat behind, comprising a further 19%.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the major product types, was attained by calendar and calendar block (with a CAGR of +13.7%), while the other products experienced a decline.

In value terms, trade advertising materials and commercial catalogues ($46M), printed picture, design and photograph n.e.s. ($24M) and transfers (decalcomanias) ($23M) appeared to be the most exported types of calendars and trade advertising material from China worldwide, together comprising 80% of total exports. These products were followed by calendars and calendar blocks, which accounted for a further 20%.

Calendar and calendar block, with a CAGR of +15.9%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main product categories over the period under review, while shipments for the other products experienced mixed trend patterns.

China Calendars And Trade Advertising Material Exports by Country

The United States (5.4K tons) was the main destination for calendars and trade advertising material exports from China, with a 31% share of total exports. Moreover, calendars and trade advertising material exports to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Vietnam (1K tons), fivefold. the Philippines (996 tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 5.8% share.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the average monthly growth rate of volume to the United States amounted to -4.8%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average monthly rates of exports growth: Vietnam (-5.3% per month) and the Philippines (+14.0% per month).

In value terms, the United States ($32M) remains the key foreign market for calendars and trade advertising material exports from China, comprising 27% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Singapore ($9.8M), with an 8.4% share of total exports. It was followed by Vietnam, with a 7.2% share.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the average monthly growth rate of value to the United States stood at -2.0%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average monthly rates of exports growth: Singapore (+29.1% per month) and Vietnam (-1.1% per month).
