The average cherry import price stood at $7,094 per ton in December 2022, dropping by -19.1% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price showed a slight shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in May 2022 when the average import price increased by 42% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $8,768 per ton in November 2022, and then reduced notably in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2022, the country with the highest price was South Africa ($8,426 per ton), while the price for Italy ($3,179 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+3.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In December 2022, the average cherry export price amounted to $7,870 per ton, declining by -42% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price saw a perceptible curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in September 2022 an increase of 175% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $18.4 per kg in April 2022; however, from May 2022 to December 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
