U.S. Copper Stranded Wire Export Price per Ton in June 2022
In June 2022, the copper stranded wire price per ton stood at $13.2K (FOB, US), declining by -6.9% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in April 2022 an increase of 15% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $14.2K per ton in May 2022, and then fell in the following month.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In June 2022, the country with the highest price was Canada ($13.6K per ton), while the average price for exports to Mexico stood at $12.2K per ton.
From January 2022 to June 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Mexico (+2.8%).
U.S. Copper Stranded Wire Exports
Copper stranded wire exports from the United States was estimated at 2.8K tons in August 2022, increasing by 10% compared with the previous month's figure. The total export volume increased at an average monthly rate of +3.1% over the period from January 2022 to August 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain months. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in March 2022 when exports increased by 28% m-o-m. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 3.1K tons. From April 2022 to August 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, copper stranded wire exports amounted to $35M (IndexBox estimates) in August 2022. The total export value increased at an average monthly rate of +2.3% from January 2022 to August 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being observed in certain months. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2022 with an increase of 13% month-to-month.
