Cow peas Price in Turkey (CIF) - 2023
The average cow peas import price stood at $878 per ton in January 2023, almost unchanged from the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a perceptible shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in April 2022 when the average import price increased by 12% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $1,239 per ton in May 2022; however, from June 2022 to January 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In January 2023, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($1,130 per ton), while the price for Madagascar ($862 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to January 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (+0.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average cow peas export price stood at $1,197 per ton in January 2023, stabilizing at the previous month. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2022 when the average export price increased by 15% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $1,525 per ton in June 2022; however, from July 2022 to January 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In January 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Sweden ($1,523 per ton) and Syrian Arab Republic ($1,417 per ton), while the average price for exports to Angola ($1,025 per ton) and Belgium ($1,058 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to January 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Syrian Arab Republic (+1.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
