China Cyclic Aldehydes Without Other Oxygen Function Export Price in September 2022

In September 2022, the cyclic aldehydes without other oxygen function price stood at $10.6 per kg (FOB, China), falling by -3.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, export price indicated modest growth from January 2022 to September 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.1% over the last eight-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2022 figures, export price for cyclic aldehydes without other oxygen function increased by +20.3% against July 2022 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in May 2022 an increase of 79% month-to-month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $13,388 per ton. From June 2022 to September 2022, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was Germany ($72.2 per kg), while the average price for exports to the Philippines ($1,955 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+24.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In September 2022, overseas shipments of cyclic aldehydes without other oxygen function decreased by -8.3% to 876 tons, falling for the second month in a row after two months of growth. Overall, exports saw a perceptible reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2022 with an increase of 97% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the exports of attained the maximum at 1.5K tons in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to September 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, exports of cyclic aldehydes without other oxygen function fell to $9.3M (IndexBox estimates) in September 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded a slight decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in June 2022 when exports increased by 41% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the exports of hit record highs at 13K tons in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to September 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

India (202 tons), the UK (174 tons) and the Philippines (144 tons) were the main destinations of exports of cyclic aldehydes without other oxygen function from China, with a combined 59% share of total exports.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the biggest increases were in the UK (with a CAGR of +10.3%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for cyclic aldehydes without other oxygen function exported from China were the United States ($2.3M), Germany ($1.3M) and India ($1M), together comprising 50% of total exports.

Among the main countries of destination, Germany, with a CAGR of +10.6%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
