China Derivatives Of Hydrocarbons Containing Only Sulpho Groups; Their Salts And Ethyl Esters Export Price in September 2022
In September 2022, the derivatives of hydrocarbons containing only sulpho groups; their salts and ethyl esters price stood at $3,573 per ton (FOB, China), shrinking by -5.2% against the previous month. In general, the export price continues to indicate a noticeable shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in June 2022 an increase of 16% m-o-m. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $4,941 per ton. From July 2022 to September 2022, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was Japan ($4,829 per ton), while the average price for exports to Mali ($1,570 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belarus (+3.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In September 2022, overseas shipments of derivatives of hydrocarbons containing only sulpho groups; their salts and ethyl esters decreased by -11.1% to 1.9K tons, falling for the second consecutive month after three months of growth. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in March 2022 when exports increased by 97% m-o-m. The exports peaked at 2.3K tons in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to September 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, exports of derivatives of hydrocarbons containing only sulpho groups; their salts and ethyl esters contracted remarkably to $6.8M (IndexBox estimates) in September 2022. In general, exports continue to indicate a perceptible decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2022 with an increase of 95% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the exports of reached the peak figure at 10K tons in June 2022; however, from July 2022 to September 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Japan (271 tons), India (217 tons) and South Korea (158 tons) were the main destinations of exports of derivatives of hydrocarbons containing only sulpho groups; their salts and ethyl esters from China, together comprising 34% of total exports. The United States, Taiwan (Chinese), Canada, Mali, Indonesia, Brazil, Russia, the Netherlands and Germany lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 49%.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the biggest increases were in Canada (with a CAGR of +154.9%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Japan ($1.3M), India ($837K) and the United States ($572K) appeared to be the largest markets for derivatives of hydrocarbons containing only sulpho groups; their salts and ethyl esters exported from China worldwide, together accounting for 40% of total exports. South Korea, Taiwan (Chinese), Canada, Germany, Indonesia, Russia, Brazil, the Netherlands, Mali and Belarus lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 42%.
Among the main countries of destination, Russia, with a CAGR of +85.7%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
