U.S. Dried Grapes Export Price per Ton in August 2022
In August 2022, the dried grapes price per ton amounted to $3.3K (FOB, US), standing approximately at the previous month. Overall, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2022 when the average export price increased by 8.4% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $3.5K per ton in June 2022; however, from July 2022 to August 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major foreign markets. In August 2022, the highest price was recorded for prices to Malaysia ($4.2K per ton) and China ($3.8K per ton), while the average price for exports to Thailand ($2.8K per ton) and Hong Kong SAR ($2.9K per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to August 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+6.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
U.S. Dried Grapes Exports
In August 2022, overseas shipments of dried grapes were finally on the rise to reach 4.6K tons after two months of decline. Overall, exports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2022 with an increase of 31% m-o-m.
In value terms, dried grapes exports stood at $15M (IndexBox estimates) in August 2022. Over the period under review, exports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in March 2022 with an increase of 41% month-to-month. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $25M. From April 2022 to August 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
U.S. Dried Grapes Exports by Country
Japan (1.1K tons), Canada (584 tons) and the Philippines (542 tons) were the main destinations of dried grapes exports from the United States, together accounting for 49% of total exports.
From January 2022 to August 2022, the biggest increases were in the Philippines (with a CAGR of +44.7%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Japan ($3.3M), Canada ($2M) and the Philippines ($1.6M) constituted the largest markets for dried grapes exported from the United States worldwide, with a combined 45% share of total exports.
Among the main countries of destination, the Philippines, with a CAGR of +49.6%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
