China Dried Vegetables Export Price in September 2022
In September 2022, the dried vegetables price stood at $3,291 per ton (FOB, China), standing approximately at the previous month. In general, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2022 when the average export price increased by 7.5% month-to-month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $3,446 per ton. From May 2022 to September 2022, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was South Korea ($7,657 per ton), while the average price for exports to Poland ($1,815 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Malaysia (+6.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Dried vegetables exports from China shrank slightly to 19K tons in September 2022, waning by -1.6% against August 2022. In general, exports saw a abrupt decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2022 with an increase of 44% m-o-m. The exports peaked at 29K tons in January 2022; however, from February 2022 to September 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, dried vegetables exports reduced slightly to $62M (IndexBox estimates) in September 2022. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a abrupt setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2022 with an increase of 40% month-to-month. The exports peaked at 93K tons in January 2022; however, from February 2022 to September 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
China Dried Vegetables Exports by Country
The United States (5.5K tons) was the main destination for dried vegetables exports from China, with a 29% share of total exports. Moreover, dried vegetables exports to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Japan (1.3K tons), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Russia (1.1K tons), with a 6% share.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the average monthly growth rate of volume to the United States amounted to -7.3%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average monthly rates of exports growth: Japan (-5.8% per month) and Russia (-7.1% per month).
In value terms, the United States ($17M), Japan ($9.7M) and South Korea ($4.4M) constituted the largest markets for dried vegetables exported from China worldwide, with a combined 50% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Russia, Germany, the Netherlands, Brazil, Malaysia, Canada, Indonesia, Australia, Belgium and Poland, which together accounted for a further 29%.
Among the main countries of destination, Malaysia, with a CAGR of +14.7%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
