China Ether-Alcohols And Their Halogenated, Sulphonated, Nitrated Or Nitrosated Derivatives Export Price in September 2022
In September 2022, the ether-alcohols and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives price amounted to $1,756 per ton (FOB, China), shrinking by -10.8% against the previous month. Overall, the export price saw a noticeable decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2022 an increase of 14% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $2,402 per ton in January 2022; however, from February 2022 to September 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was India ($2,142 per ton), while the average price for exports to Taiwan (Chinese) ($1,200 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Russia (-0.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In September 2022, the amount of ether-alcohols and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives (excluding 2,2-oxydiethanol) exported from China rose rapidly to 13K tons, surging by 6% compared with August 2022. Overall, exports, however, recorded a perceptible decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in July 2022 with an increase of 121% against the previous month. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 27K tons. From August 2022 to September 2022, the growth of the exports of remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, exports of ether-alcohols and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives (excluding 2,2-oxydiethanol) declined to $23M (IndexBox estimates) in September 2022. In general, exports, however, showed a abrupt downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in July 2022 with an increase of 78% month-to-month. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $51M. From August 2022 to September 2022, the growth of the exports of failed to regain momentum.

Taiwan (Chinese) (3.3K tons), Japan (2.4K tons) and South Korea (1.5K tons) were the main destinations of exports of ether-alcohols and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives (excluding 2,2-oxydiethanol) from China, together comprising 55% of total exports. These countries were followed by Russia, India, Brazil, Australia, Thailand, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey and Colombia, which together accounted for a further 30%.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the biggest increases were in Colombia (with a CAGR of +37.9%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Japan ($4.7M), Taiwan (Chinese) ($4M) and South Korea ($2.4M) were the largest markets for ether-alcohols and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives exported from China worldwide, together accounting for 48% of total exports. Russia, India, Brazil, Australia, Thailand, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, South Africa and Colombia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 32%.
Among the main countries of destination, Colombia, with a CAGR of +30.0%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
