U.S. Ferro-Silico-Manganese Import Price per Ton in May 2022
In May 2022, the ferro-silico-manganese price per ton stood at $2.4K (CIF, US), jumping by 33% against the previous month. Over the period from January 2022 to May 2022, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.7%. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Norway ($2.9K per ton), while the price for Mexico ($1.4K per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to May 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+32.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
U.S. Ferro-Silico-Manganese Imports
Ferro-silico-manganese imports into the United States surged to 42K tons in July 2022, with an increase of 79% compared with June 2022. In general, imports enjoyed a prominent increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2022 with an increase of 226% m-o-m. As a result, imports reached the peak of 64K tons. From May 2022 to July 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
