China Finishing Agents, Dye Carriers And Other Preparations Import Price in September 2022

In September 2022, the finishing agents, dye carriers and other preparations price amounted to $4,218 per ton (CIF, China), leveling off at the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in August 2022 when the average import price increased by 6.9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs in September 2022.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was South Korea ($7,226 per ton), while the price for Indonesia ($983 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+13.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports of finishing agents, dye carriers and other preparations into China shrank notably to 2K tons in September 2022, waning by -23.1% on the month before. Over the period under review, imports recorded a pronounced decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2022 when imports increased by 42% month-to-month. As a result, imports attained the peak of 3.1K tons. From April 2022 to September 2022, the growth of imports of failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, imports of finishing agents, dye carriers and other preparations reduced rapidly to $8.3M (IndexBox estimates) in September 2022. Overall, imports recorded a noticeable slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2022 with an increase of 38% month-to-month. As a result, imports reached the peak of $11M. From April 2022 to September 2022, the growth of imports of remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Italy (600 tons), Germany (385 tons) and France (124 tons) were the main suppliers of imports of finishing agents, dye carriers and other preparations to China, with a combined 57% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Taiwan (Chinese), Singapore, the Netherlands, Indonesia, South Korea, Brazil, Spain, the United States and India, which together accounted for a further 38%.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Indonesia (with a CAGR of +16.1%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest finishing agents, dye carriers and other preparations suppliers to China were Italy ($2.5M), Germany ($2M) and the Netherlands ($703K), together accounting for 64% of total imports. These countries were followed by South Korea, the United States, Singapore, Taiwan (Chinese), Spain, France, Brazil, Indonesia and India, which together accounted for a further 31%.

Indonesia, with a CAGR of +17.1%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
