China Frozen And Fresh Or Chilled Skipjack Tuna Export Price in August 2022

In August 2022, the frozen and fresh or chilled skipjack tuna price amounted to $2,628 per ton (FOB, China), falling by -15.7% against the previous month. Over the period from January 2022 to August 2022, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.2%. The growth pace was the most rapid in February 2022 an increase of 36% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $3,294 per ton in March 2022; however, from April 2022 to August 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the Philippines ($2,936 per ton), while the average price for exports to Vietnam ($1,624 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2022 to August 2022, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of value to the Philippines stood at -22.9%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average monthly rates of exports growth: Bulgaria (0.0% per month) and Vietnam (-1.5% per month).
