U.S. Frozen Cuttlefishes Import Price per Ton in August 2022
In August 2022, the frozen cuttlefishes price per ton amounted to $5.8K (CIF, US), surging by 1.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a slight slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in June 2022 when the average import price increased by 5.2% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $6.2K per ton in January 2022; however, from February 2022 to August 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2022, the country with the highest price was Spain ($7.0K per ton), while the price for New Zealand ($4.1K per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to August 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Taiwan (Chinese) (+1.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
U.S. Frozen Cuttlefishes Imports
In August 2022, imports of frozen cuttlefishes into the United States fell markedly to 938 tons, with a decrease of -36.2% against the month before. In general, imports saw a abrupt contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in February 2022 when imports increased by 17% month-to-month. As a result, imports reached the peak of 1.9K tons. From March 2022 to August 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, frozen cuttlefishes imports reduced dramatically to $5.4M (IndexBox estimates) in August 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a abrupt downturn.
