China Glass Fibre Fabrics Export Price in December 2021
In December 2021, the glass fibre fabrics price amounted to $2,941 per ton (FOB, China), increasing by 12% against the previous month. Overall, the export price saw modest growth. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In December 2021, the country with the highest price was Canada ($4,582 per ton), while the average price for exports to Saudi Arabia ($1,754 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Turkey (+4.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
China Glass Fibre Fabrics Export Prices by Type
Prices varied noticeably by the product type; the product with the highest price was glass fibres; woven fabrics (other than of rovings), of a width not exceeding 30cm ($4,680 per ton), while the average price for exports of glass fibres; woven fabrics of rovings ($1,497 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for the following types: glass fibres; woven fabrics (other than of rovings), of a width not exceeding 30cm (+2.7%), while the prices for the other products experienced more modest paces of growth.
China Glass Fibre Fabrics Exports
In December 2021, overseas shipments of glass fibre fabrics increased by 13% to 23K tons, rising for the second consecutive month after two months of decline. Overall, total exports indicated a moderate expansion from January 2021 to December 2021: its volume increased at an average monthly rate of +2.7% over the last eleven months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on December 2021 figures, exports increased by +23.6% against October 2021 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2021 with an increase of 72% month-to-month. The exports peaked in December 2021.
In value terms, glass fibre fabrics exports soared to $69M (IndexBox estimates) in December 2021. In general, total exports indicated perceptible growth from January 2021 to December 2021: its value increased at an average monthly rate of +3.7% over the last eleven months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on December 2021 figures, exports increased by +38.1% against July 2021 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2021 when exports increased by 73% m-o-m. The exports peaked in December 2021.
China Glass Fibre Fabrics Exports by Type
Glass fibres; woven fabrics (other than of rovings), n.e.s. in item no. 7019.5 (15K tons) was the largest type of glass fibre fabrics exported from China, with a 64% share of total exports. Moreover, glass fibres; woven fabrics (other than of rovings), n.e.s. in item no. 7019.5 exceeded the volume of the second product type, glass fibres; woven fabrics of rovings (5.1K tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was held by glass fibres; woven fabrics (other than of rovings), of a width exceeding 30cm, plain weave, weighing less than 250g/m2, of filaments measuring per single yarn not more than 136 tex (2.6K tons), with an 11% share.
From January 2021 to December 2021, the average monthly growth rate of the volume of export of glass fibres; woven fabrics (other than of rovings), n.e.s. in item no. 7019.5 stood at +4.3%. With regard to the other exported products, the following average monthly rates of growth were recorded: glass fibres; woven fabrics of rovings (+1.5% per month) and glass fibres; woven fabrics (other than of rovings), of a width exceeding 30cm, plain weave, weighing less than 250g/m2, of filaments measuring per single yarn not more than 136 tex (-1.5% per month).
In value terms, glass fibres; woven fabrics (other than of rovings), n.e.s. in item no. 7019.5 ($47M) remains the largest type of glass fibre fabrics exported from China, comprising 68% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by glass fibres; woven fabrics (other than of rovings), of a width exceeding 30cm, plain weave, weighing less than 250g/m2, of filaments measuring per single yarn not more than 136 tex ($11M), with a 16% share of total exports. It was followed by glass fibres; woven fabrics of rovings, with an 11% share.
From January 2021 to December 2021, the average monthly growth rate of the export volume of glass fibres; woven fabrics (other than of rovings), n.e.s. in item no. 7019.5 stood at +4.8%. With regard to the other exported products, the following average monthly rates of growth were recorded: glass fibres; woven fabrics (other than of rovings), of a width exceeding 30cm, plain weave, weighing less than 250g/m2, of filaments measuring per single yarn not more than 136 tex (+0.5% per month) and glass fibres; woven fabrics of rovings (+2.6% per month).
China Glass Fibre Fabrics Exports by Country
Turkey (5.5K tons) was the main destination for glass fibre fabrics exports from China, accounting for a 23% share of total exports. Moreover, glass fibre fabrics exports to Turkey exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Russia (2K tons), threefold. India (1.4K tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 6.1% share.
From January 2021 to December 2021, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of volume to Turkey stood at +9.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average monthly rates of exports growth: Russia (+8.4% per month) and India (+7.7% per month).
In value terms, Turkey ($14M) remains the key foreign market for glass fibre fabrics exports from China, comprising 21% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Russia ($4.3M), with a 6.3% share of total exports. It was followed by the United States, with a 6.1% share.
From January 2021 to December 2021, the average monthly growth rate of value to Turkey stood at +14.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average monthly rates of exports growth: Russia (+9.0% per month) and the United States (-0.4% per month).
