U.S. Grapefruit Export Price per Ton in August 2022
In August 2022, the grapefruit price per ton amounted to $942.0 (FOB, US), growing by 17% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a noticeable curtailment. The export price peaked at $1.4K per ton in February 2022; however, from March 2022 to August 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In August 2022, the country with the highest price was Canada ($1.1K per ton), while the average price for exports to Mexico stood at $817.0 per ton.
From January 2022 to August 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Japan (+3.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
U.S. Grapefruit Exports
In August 2022, approximately 669 tons of grapefruits were exported from the United States; which is down by -44.3% on the previous month's figure. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a precipitous descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2022 when exports increased by 14% m-o-m.
